Vivian Zurita

Cuban-born Vivian Zurita is a versatile artist whose works explore the varied aspects of her life including Black feminist realities in the modern world, injustice, tradition, and spirituality.  She employs a wide range of approaches, including collaborative installations, assemblage, and performance to convey her ideas.  Self-trained, she is not afraid of new techniques and influences and has a distinct use of color and texture to draw her audience into the work, sparking intrigue.  Needless, to say, her back story is pretty intriguing too.
